Lot-et-Garonne is a land of culture. Gastronomy therefore has a predominant place. Prunes from Agen, tomatoes from Marmande, but also melons, strawberries and asparagus are essential. For example, overlooking the Séoune valley, Puymirol is the oldest country house in the department. Hiking enthusiasts will find more than 400 signposted circuits, on nearly 5 kilometers of trails. By bike, 260 kilometers of greenways and 3 cycle routes are available. Mountain biking circuits, equestrian routes, climbing sites and caves complete the sporting offer of this territory.

Historic sites

Several major historical sites can be found in the Lot-et-Garonne. Henri IV castle in Nérac of course, but also the medieval castle of Bonaguil which is one of the most beautiful fortified castles in France. The Cocussotte mill in Saint-Pierre-sur-Dropt, or the water lily garden in Temple-sur-Lot are also worth a visit. But the department conceals treasures from the past.
