La Matheysine on foot or by bike
Authentic and wild, Matheysine covers 71,6 hectares. Its plateaus and mountains culminate between 370 and 3 meters above sea level. From short walks to long hikes, there is something for everyone… 900 kilometers of hiking trails, 780 kilometers of which are labeled by the department, await you. You will have so much fun evolving in these grandiose landscapes. ATV, 800 kilometers of adapted trails also mark out this territory with its natural wealth. For trail lovers, other circuits are marked out between the valleys, the plateaus and the multitude of lakes. The territory has many assets to become your next weekend destination in Isère.

The lakes of Laffrey, Pétichet and Pierre-Châtel, offer you a peaceful and rejuvenating setting. They are accessible year round. Paid parking is convenient on site. Please note that swimming is authorized but not supervised. Around the lake, also enjoy a restaurant, a snack bar, a tree climbing park and an inflatable games park.
Fishing in the spotlight
The lakes of Matheysine are lakes perfectly adapted for fishing. Fishermen with family, novices or seasoned, you will necessarily find the fishing spots that suit you between the Laffrey and La Mure lakes.

These lakes are home to a wide variety of fish. Pike, perch, tench, carp, trout, white fish, arctic char, whitefish and gudgeon. Lac des Cordeliers and Lac Mort also offer night carp fishing. Isn't this an activity that has become unavoidable? Attention it remains regulated.
The Valbonnais lake
The Valbonnais body of water hosts almost the same species of fish as the previous lakes. Its strong point: it is the only one with the Crey pond to be fitted out for handi-fishing.
Sautet and Monteynard lakes
Do you know the Sautet and Monteynard lakes? With their nautical bases, these are the two largest lakes in the territory. They offer a multitude of activities in addition to fishing, enough to vary the pleasures for those who accompany you.
Don't forget that mountain lakes are also good for fishing and relaxing in privileged nature. You can fish there for example brown trout and rainbow trout. They are present in the lakes of the Taillefer massif. Going up towards Alpe du Grand Serre, after the village of La Valette, the lakes of Rif Bruyant are the perfect place to combine hiking and fishing in one day. Other lakes are jewels suitable for fishing. Poursollet lake, Claret lakes, Brouffier lake or even Fourchu lake.
