Greenway from Cluny to Givry
Burgundy is the birthplace of the first Greenway in France, between Cluny and Givry. The cycling routes are numerous, varied, and open onto a green and welcoming nature. Among this multitude of possibilities, the route that connects Chalon-sur-Saône to Mâcon in three or four days is a reference. Between Givry and Cluny, it takes the greenway and crosses two large vineyards, Côte Chalonnaise to the north and Mâconnais to the south. Set foot on the ground to discover their wines, their decorations, their villages.
Cycling and Heritage
Stroll through the medieval towns of Buxy and Saint-Gengoux-le-National. At Renaissance castle of Cormatin, go to the marquise. Its apartments and gardens are magnificent. Stroll through the narrow streets of Cluny and Tournus and visit their abbeys. The appearance of the fortified castle of Berzé-le-Châtel, as majestic as it is unexpected, marks the border of Val Lamartinien. Let yourself be enchanted by the landscape of the hillsides of vines and the inimitable silhouettes of the rocks of Solutré and Vergisson on the horizon.
The Blue Route between Moselle and Saône
Perhaps you will want to take sections of the Blue Way which links Moselle-Saône by bike, along the Saône ? In total, there are 700 kilometers of cycling along the water's edge, from Luxembourg to Lyon. An itinerary for the curious, gourmets and lovers of good living and beautiful encounters!
Eurovelo 6 also passes in the vicinity. A stage from Chalon joins the Canal du Center which stretches to the Loire. This part is particularly calm and pleasant. It passes along a canal offered to fishermen and yachtsmen who cross towards Digoin. An easy route, exclusively on greenways, except on the way out of town.
And if you still have some time, go to Michel Grézaud bicycle museum in Tournus which invites you to discover an exceptional and unique collection in France. Due to its diversity and originality, with nearly 200 bicycles and hundreds of unusual objects, the Cycling Museum will delight a wide audience well beyond the purists of the little queen. At the end of the visit, young and old can even try their hand at piloting unusual machines in the courtyard of the museum. Laughter guaranteed!
