The Jura stroll leads to an encounter with oneself and the world. Your reward will be the discovery of picturesque villages as well as natural and historical heritage.
The Franco-Swiss Jurassic Escape
Maybe you will borrow The Franco-Swiss Jurassic Escape which is an itinerant hike using several existing GR®: GR 59, GR 559, GR 5, GR 509. You will thus leave from Dole to Salins-les-Bains. You will then reach Lons-le-Saunier, and be immersed in the Jura vineyard. The following stages have more elevation gain and will make you do some beautiful climbs around the Cascade du Hérisson, the Pic de l'Aigle, the Risoux Forest... At the Station des Rousses, you will experience a significant ascent on the belvedere des Dappes or la Dôle depending on the itinerary chosen. You will then descend to find the freshness in the valley.
Kayaking, canoeing or paddleboard enthusiasts will be happy to enjoy these waters, which are sometimes lively and sometimes calm. Many professionals also offer accompanied walks.
In the river
Many rivers and several lakes are navigable. They offer different courses and different levels of difficulty. The Loue, the Doubs, the Ain, or the Bienne offer great descents!
On the lakes
The lakes of Vouglans, Chalain, Les Rousses, Clairvaux or Ilay are also nuggets for lovers of water sports in the heart of nature.
Since camping, two courses are offered.
- A 15 kilometer descent
Duration of about 3h30. Departure at 10 a.m. camping. Recovery of the canoes by the partner at the end of the course. Fairly quiet route.
- A 7 kilometer descent
Duration of about 2h30. Departure from camping morning or early afternoon. Recovery of the canoes by the partner at the end of the course. Fairly eventful course with rapids and small waterfalls.
Minimum age: 8 years old with the obligation to know how to swim. During the routes you have many possibilities for stops and picnics with beautiful beaches. Prices and booking conditions are available at reception.
If you are traveling by bike, you will enjoy 2 kilometers of marked trails on small shared roads. You may experience 2 Tours of the Jura by bike or the Great Crossing of the Jura by bike created especially for bicycle travellers. The territory also offers 11 remarkable passes and climbs marked out for climbers and other pass hunters.

The Jura has nearly 2 kilometers of marked mountain bike trails, i.e. around 000 routes, 140 sites and mountain bike bases with the FFC/FFCT label. the bike park of longchaumois and morbier ludy park are unavoidable. The 4 major mountain bike routes including the Grande Traversée du Jura attract enthusiasts. The Jura offers a multitude of experiences for mountain bike enthusiasts in cross-country, mountain biking or Enduro!

- From Clairvaux-les-Lacs, you will choose according to your abilities and time between the 134 km of “La Grande Traversée des Lacs”, the 33 km of the “Tour de Joux”, the 15 km “Autour de Clairvaux”, or the “ Reculée de la Frasnée”, the 14 km of which will be a walk.
- A beautiful greenway, very easy, connects Dole and Lons le Saunier.
- For the more trained, the GTJ, a great crossing of the Jura, by bike will give you some great sporting getaways.
