Cycling trip in the Baie de Somme

Discover the wide open landscapes around the Baie de Somme. Travel the small winding roads in the Froises, between Favières, Ponthoile and Saint-Quentin-en-Tourmont. Admire the view of the cliffs from Le Hourdel and Cayeux-sur-Mer. Access the beaches of Quend and Fort-Mahon.

Picardy coast and countryside

Unmissable walk near the camping, take the circuit of the Avocet. Take the small roads in the heart of Marquenterre where the Henson horses graze. Here also rest migratory birds. Ride between pines and dunes to Rue, a town with a strong cultural heritage. You will observe the medieval city, the Saint-Esprit chapel, the belfry, the Caudron brothers' museum, the St-Wulphy church and the Larronville marshes. Don't miss the town of Le Crotoy, its beach, its fishing port and its Friday market. Finally, discover the villages of Saint-Quentin-en-Tourmont and its Henson equestrian center, or Favières and the Parc du Marquenterre. 

The seals of Point de Hourdel

Whatever your profile, you will be enchanted by the ecological richness of the Baie de Somme. You will go seal watching in the bay. At the tip of Hourdel, in a small fishing village located 10 kilometers from St Valéry-sur-Somme, you will find the largest colony of seals in the Baie de Somme. You will enjoy the beautiful and long beaches and the lights so characteristic of the region.

Marquenterre Park

With its 200 hectares of dunes, forests and marshes in the heart of the Baie de Somme nature reserve, the Marquenterre park has been a Mecca for ornithology in Europe for 40 years. It serves as a refuge for thousands of migratory birds. You will be able to observe more than 300 species there, that is to say thousands of birds, waders, waders, water birds, sparrows and birds of prey. Along 3 routes, and 12 observation posts, the naturalist guides await you to explain the way of life of their hosts and help you to decipher the wild life of these birds which have made Marquenterre a privileged stopover between Scandinavia and Mauritania.
