The Morvan Natural Park
The Morvan Natural Park is located in the center of the Burgundy. You will evolve in landscapes of hills and low mountains, small forests crossed by streams, rivers and waterfalls. Many traditional villages will punctuate your journey. They then offer wonderful cultural or gastronomic breaks.
The history of the Park
The park was created in 1970 to preserve this natural environment which covers approximately 2 km2 of hilly countryside spread over four different departments. The Morvan indeed extends over the Côte d'Or, the Nièvre, Saône-et-Loire and the Yonne. This destination is ideal for people who want to take the time to explore, observe and appreciate the unique atmosphere. Walk in the woods, find a path that leads to a small refreshing waterfall, visit the small villages around a village church...
The Park House
In Saint-Brisson, you will find all the practical information at The Morvan Regional Natural Park House. Hiking maps, marked trails, and routes to explore the region by bike, will be detailed for you. This visitor center also has a modest cafe, herb garden, and two museums. The Ecomuseum and the Resistance Museum in Morvan deserve attention. You will also find various places in the park that offer recreational activities.

The Morvan Regional Natural Park has been able to preserve, but also develop its territory. It thus offers hundreds of kilometers of marked trails for all levels of walkers. From family walks to sporty hikes, you will walk through these marvelous landscapes. They make the Morvan massif a unique place of biodiversity in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. Settons lake is ideal for swimming and water sports. The lake of Pannecières promises great carp or lure fishing sessions. You will also be able to face pike, zander and other very large perch. The lakes of Chaumeçon and Saint Aignan remain for their part very wild. They offer breathtaking landscapes.
Epicureans will appreciate the essential Burgundian gastronomy which has made the reputation of the most beautiful restaurants in France. They will of course appreciate a glass of Burgundy wine.
