An ideal setting for hiking
You will be struck by the gentleness of the place and the great variety of fauna and flora. No need for great physical preparation, nor heavy equipment to carry. Take good shoes and above all, take advantage of every moment to let yourself be amazed. Perhaps you will be surprised at a bend in the path by an encounter or the discovery of a picturesque village. The banks of the rivers will welcome you for a picnic or a swim.
- Barn Loop
In 5 kilometers of hiking and approximately 1h40, discover the dam. It creates a beautiful water reservoir connected to the river by a fish ladder.
- Bridges loop circuit
Allow two hours to cover the 5 kilometers.
- Circuit around the town
This 10 kilometer loop allows you to go around the town. You will discover the multiple bucolic landscapes of our beautiful commune. But also the valley of the Isle, the high plateau of Villesange dominating the castle, the micro power station and high forests and other thickets of chestnut trees.
- Circuit of the mills
Over 16 kilometers and for more than 4 hours, this colorful route alternates between the banks of the river, rolling meadows, very dense undergrowth and plateaus offering panoramic views.
- Napoleon circuit
Nearly 5 hours are needed to cover the 18 kilometers of this Napoleon trail.
- Red wheat circuit
Without major difficulties, this path takes its name from the fields of corn (bla rou dzè in Occitan) which border it. However, count more than 4 hours for the 16 kilometers.
- Plateau du guet circuit
Explore the Isle valley and the plateau for a dozen kilometres. You will have the opportunity to admire the panoramic viewpoints from the heights of Jumilhac.
- Great loop circuit
This large loop of 42 kilometers, rather reserved for riders and mountain bikers, borrows part of all the hiking circuits of the town.
Choose the app all trails and discover the hikes around the camping.
The Isle River
The river, renowned for its tranquility, has its source in the Massif Central. It joins the Dordogne at Libourne, and crosses the Périgord to appear in several towns in the Dordogne. Next to Camping The Chatonnière, you can take full advantage of it for short or long walks according to your desires and your form!
Rent the canoes and all the necessary equipment directly at the camping. You will thus appreciate the fauna and flora that you will observe once on the water. You will not cut out the giggles associated with the pleasures of navigation on the water and will keep unforgettable memories of your holidays at Camping the Chatonnière.
Fishing on the Isle
You can fish for trout as accompanying fish (minnow, gudgeon). Some areas are transitional spaces rich in fairly large trout, and teeming with whitewater fish such as the very combative barbel or the vandoise, hidden in the many buttercup beds. Some may also face very large pike and a multitude of pikeperch or "sting" the largest freshwater fish, the frequent catfish and sometimes very large. Carp are also present and catches of 15 to more than 20 kg are frequent.
Un camping labeled Accomodation Fishing
L'Isle is classified 2nd category. For all these qualities, the camping is labeled “Accommodation fishing” by the National Fishing Federation. It is the guarantee that Lydie and Bruno have set up at the reception, all the services and equipment necessary for the practice of fishing in the best conditions. You will have the possibility of buying the fishing card and specific documents relating to local regulations at reception. You will be guided to providers able to help you with equipment and fishing activity.
